1963 marked the onset of the tire company known as
Mickey Thompson. Thompson had a history with race cars from all aspects. He
designed them, drove them, and even promoted them. He teamed up with Gene
McMannis, who was a tire designer. McMannis had already designed tires that
were used in various international racing events. Thompson and McMannis would
join forces to build tires for racing, off-road, and street driving. These
products would go on to be recognized worldwide among the best in the
automotive industry.
Since its founding in 1963, the company has
