Mickey Thompson

About
1963 marked the onset of the tire company known as Mickey Thompson.  Mickey had a history with race cars from all aspects.  He designed them, drove them and even promoted them.  He teamed up with a guy named Gene McMannis who was a tire designer.  McMannis had already designed tires that had been used in multiple world renowned racing events.  Together, they would build tires for racing, off road and even street tires that would become known worldwide as some of the best.  Cooper Tire and Rubber Company now owns Mickey Thompson and has since the buyout in 2003, but they kept the Mickey Thompson name and the reputation that came with it.
Wheels
Mickey Thompson not only makes tires, they are known for their wheels too.  They manufacture truck wheels, street wheels, strip wheels and even make the replacement caps for all of the wheels that they manufacture.
Truck
Sometimes it can be a bit difficult to find just the right wheels and tires for your truck.  Not with Mickey Thompson.  They manufacture and market not just the wheels and tires, but also all of the little accessories that go with them.
Off Road
Going off road a lot can be extremely hard on your tires.  You never know when you will run over something that will puncture them.  With Mickey Thompson off road tires, you really don’t have to worry about this.  They are extremely tough and very difficult to destroy no matter what kind of terrain you are on.
Strip
Low profile, high performance and durability are things that need to be considered when looking at strip tires or racing tires.  Those three things are all features that you will find on the line of strip tires manufactured by Mickey Thompson.
Baja MTZ Radial
This is an extreme mud tire that offers great performance on the highway too.  A must have for all of you that enjoy off road driving but want a high mileage tire for your money.
Street
Street wheels and tires are the bread and butter of any tire manufacturer.  That makes them important, but can be kind of boring.  Not with Mickey Thompson though.  Their street tires and wheels come in a variety of styles with a plethora of tread patterns ensuring that you have as many options as possible to make your decision a more thorough one and that you are completely satisfied with your purchase.

Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ

History
Mickey Thompson has been a leading name in the wheel and tire industry for 49 years.  When he started the company with Gene McMannis in 1963 he already had an extensive background in racing.  He had designed, driven and even promoted race cars.  His partner McMannis had already been designing tires for years and even held patents for several of his designs.
In 2003 Mickey Thompson was sold to the Cooper Tire and Rubber Company.  Because of the popularity and reputation of the Mickey Thompson name, they kept it and still market the tires as Mickeys Thompsons.
Baja ATZ Radial
If you are into off road driving and want a tire to fit any terrain then the Baja ATZ Radial may be just the tire that you have been dreaming about.  This is a tire that is designed for multiple terrains be it all terrain or even mud terrain.  It offers a smooth ride for highway driving too!  If you are towing things, they have a high load rating and they also feature a tread that is self-cleaning and has Stone Kicker rock ejectors.  These are even great on ice because of the siped tread lugs.
Baja ATZ Radial Plus
These fall into the same category as the aforementioned Baja ATZ Radials in that they can be used anywhere, but they are a bit different.  For starters they are only for LIGHT off road use.  They are a high mileage tire and great for use on a work truck.  They can be used in snow or ice and offer the same smooth ride as the ATZ Radials.  These also are rated for towing.  There is a simple difference in that there is a center rib that is solid.  This feature enables enhanced handing and ride stability.
Sizes
Both the Baja ATZ Radial and the Baja ATZ Radial Plus come in varying sizes so you can be assured of getting the size that you desire.
Purchasing
As with every other tire in the world, you can purchase Mickey Thompson tires almost anywhere.  If for some reason you are not able to find them locally, just go to their web site and you will have multiple purchase options.  Alternatively, you can always go to your favorite search engine and look for your required tire.  You will receive hits for multiple online dealers of Mickey Thompson tires.  Just choose one and order away.

Mickey Thompson Wheels

About
For near 50 years, Mickey Thompson has been providing quality wheels and tires for your vehicle.  They have a reputation in the field for the strength and durability of everything they make.  For now though we will just highlight a few of the wheels styles.
Pro 5 ET Drag Wheel
This is an aluminum wheel and as such, it is very light yet extremely durable.  Some of the features are amazing though and it actually has the lowest run out for both lateral and radials in the entire industry!  Because of the way it is made with no welding used in the bead lock components or the rim, there is no warping caused by cooling and heating.
HR1 and HR2 Wheel
These are also aluminum and they are rotary forged.  They have a polished surface and feature the M/T logo.  They come in a wide variety of sizes and can even be purchased as large as 20x16!
Classic Big Rig Wheel
This is a 10 lug design but the way in which it was designed means that it can fit a smaller lug amount bolt pattern without the use of adapters.  They feature a surface that is highly polished as well as hand holes that have been highly polished too.  They also offer a huge load rating and are great on big trucks.
SideBiter Wheel
This wheel is known as an innovation in the off road world.  It has a design called “tread-on-the-sidewall”.  These come with a black finish that is tough and high gloss.  They have a limited lifetime warranty and feature the M/T logo.
Classic III
These wheels come with the name either Classic III or Classic III Black.  They have an outer lip that is smooth and offer 16x7, as well as 8 or 6 lug applications.  They have a center cap that is of the screw on variety and is two tone.  These wheels also come with a limited lifetime guarantee.
There are of course more styles than what I have listed.  For a complete listing you can go to the Mickey Thompson web site and view each style in vivid detail.  While you are there, you can also check out the Mickey Thompson tires to go with your wheels.  Purchasing options and pricing are all listed on their web site too.  All of their products do come with part specific warranties for your protection.

Mickey Thompson Tires

About
Mickey Thompson has been the go to provider of wheels and tires for close to 50 years.  Mickey Thompson himself had a background in race cars before starting the Mickey Thompson tire company with co-founder Gene McMannis.  McMannis had a history of designing tires for race cars and even holds patents on several designs.  When they teamed up, they had a formidable team that is still in existence today even though the company was sold in 2003 to the Cooper Tire and Rubber Company.
Truck
Mickey Thompson offers a wide variety of both styles and sizes for all of your truck tire needs.  You can choose the Baja STZ or maybe you would go with the Baja ATZ Radial Plus.  Then of course, you could choose the Baja MTZ Radial or even the Baja Claw TTC Radial.  You might even opt for either the Baja Claw or the Baja Claw TTC.  Each of those choices offers features and benefits that are unbeatable in the field.
Strip
Strip tires are also known as race tires.  Mickey Thompson offers you the best of the best in this area.  Not only do they offer strip tires for cars, but they also produce motorcycle racing tires.  For both cars and motorcycles there are varying styles and sizes to choose from.  In the car area, you have your ET Drag, ET Drag Radial, ET Front, ET Drag Jr., ET Street Radial and the new ET Street radial Pro.  For motorcycles, you can choose between the ET Drag Motorcycle and the ET Drag Motorcycle Radial.
Off Road
In off road tires, while there is not a huge selection, the two that you can choose from are both good choices.  The choices are the Baja Pro and the Mini Mag.
Baja MTZ Radial
This is one of the most popular selling Mickey Thompson tires in the truck category.  It is good for both on and off road driving and is constructed to ensure that you get a smooth ride no matter where you are.
ET Street Radial
This is a sort of crossover tire.  It was originally strictly a racing tire, but Mickey Thompson has made it to be both a racing and a street tire.  This is good for you because you get the extra traction and durability of a racing tire, but the smooth ride of a street tire.  It also has a directional tread which enhances the traction

Mickey Thompson Drag Radials

The racing tire technology that is used in every tire produced by Mickey Thompson has never been more evident than in the Mickey Thompson Drag Radials.  Mickey Thompson tires are legendary and for good reason.  They have been in the business for close to 50 years and before that Mickey Thompson himself not only designed and promoted race cars, but he also drove them!  His partner, Gene McMannis also had a background in race cars, but his was concentrated in the area of the tires themselves.  His tires had been used on the Bonneville Salt Flats, at Le Mans, in the Indy 500 and even at Daytona!  When they teamed up, they then had an unbeatable team and have proved it since 1963.
ET Drag
These tires were developed through research in the real world.  They are also known as M/T slicks.  They come in various sizes and compounds.  The compounding is for ultimate traction.  These tires are unique in that they require little to no burnout and they are also engineered in such a way as to provide performance on a consistent performance.
ET Drag Radial
These have the distinction of being the fastest radials on the track!  The actual design of the radial means that you get even less rolling resistance than the regular ETs.  If you want predictable gear ratios, this tire has zero growth which allows for that to happen.  Like the regular ETs, this tire is compounded meaning you get the ultimate in traction.  If you use Auto Tran applications, then this is the tire that works best with that.  One thing though; these tires are not recommended for use on the highway.
ET Drag Radial Jr.
The ET Drag Radial Jr. by Mickey Thompson is a proven Jr. Drag winner.  Like the other versions, it is compounded for the best traction and consistent ETs.  These tires require little to no burnout and offer a wonderfully consistent performance versus other tires in its class.
All of these tires can be found on the Mickey Thompson Tires web site along with all specifications and every size available listed.  You can order them on the site or you can search for a dealer in your area.  Conversely, if you want to order online, you can do a Google search for the exact tire or wheel that you want and choose from the online dealers your search results in.
