1963 marked the onset of the tire company known as
Mickey Thompson. Thompson had a history with race cars from all aspects. He
designed them, drove them, and even promoted them. He teamed up with Gene
McMannis, who was a tire designer. McMannis had already designed tires that
were used in various international racing events. Thompson and McMannis would
join forces to build tires for racing, off-road, and street driving. These
products would go on to be recognized worldwide among the best in the
automotive industry.
Since its founding in 1963, the company has
championed many firsts in the tire industry, from wide low-profile street tires
to rugged, aggressive-tread off-road tires. Designing and producing innovative
tread patterns and compounds to build the best performance tires in the world
was our focus then, and is still our focus today.
Mickey Thompson has a variety of specialty off-road
tires in unique sizes to fit many off-road racing applications. Each tire
features bias belted construction for superior strength and impact resistance;
these tires are built to handle the toughest off-road conditions on the planet.
The possibilities are almost endless for off-road
motorists when they venture into the Mickey Thompson stores to choose the wide
variety of styles and sizes for all of the customers’ truck tire needs.
Motorists can choose the Baja STZ or maybe they can go with the Baja ATZ Radial
Plus. Additionally, Customers may opt for the Baja MTZ Radial or the Baja Claw
TTC Radial. Furthermore, motorists may decide to choose the Baja Claw TTC. All
of these choices offer features and benefits that are of superior quality.
Mickey Thompson Performance Tires is known worldwide
as a leader in high performance tires and wheels for use on the track and in
off-road racing. Our commitment and dedication to racing began with Mickey Thompson

McMannis' racing accomplishments included designing and developing tires for

Flats. He holds various patents. The list of innovations from Mickey Thompson
